Role and responsibilities

Reporting to the HR Manager, the main responsibility for this role is to source and identify top talent, fill all job openings, assure fair compensation practices and performs general HR duties for the department and employees, as duties are assigned. In addition, they will need to have the ability to work with other departments to maintain an efficient operation and high standards.

  • Recruit top talent including sourcing, interviewing and reference checking.
  • Determine and implement recruiting best practices.
  • Partner with managers to determine requirements for the position and qualities of an ideal candidate.
  • Partner with marketing to develop HR branding to attract new hires.
  • Post positions that will attract top talent/create advertising.
  • Ensure that personnel requisitions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work with managers to create job descriptions and post job descriptions.
  • Conduct reference checks.
  • Conduct phone interviews and face to face interviews.
  • Schedule interviews for internal and external applicants.
  • Administer background investigations with administrative assistance.
  • Partner with management to determine appropriate compensation packages.
  • Draft offer letters.
  • Create relationships with Universities and post positions on University web sites.
  • Negotiate temporary services terms.
  • Continuously analyze current compensation structure to ensure internal and external market equity.
  • Serve as backup to HR Manager when needed for benefits and HR needs.
  • Partner with other HR staff for event planning activities.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years in a Human Resources Generalist role focused on recruitment of all levels of employees from entry level non-exempt positions, to Senior Leadership positions.
  • Must have knowledge of full life cycle recruiting
  • Must have knowledge of employment regulations with the DOL, EEOC and OFCCP.
  • Knowledge of various functions (manufacturing, quality, sales, marketing, engineering, information systems, etc.) within an organization and the challenges of filling positions within those departments.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, poise, tact and diplomacy to accomplish objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.

Role and responsibilities

Tempo designs and manufactures LED linear, configurable lighting systems for architectural applications, theatre venues and industrial facilities. We’re currently recruiting for a technical quotations position within our growing sales team. We’re looking for a full time professional for this position. Employees will be subject to a background check and DMV driving report to ensure they are clear for employment.

  • Assist with product selection and technical support on projects.
  • Resolve internal and external technical support requests or issues related to product selection, application, specification, installation, etc.
  • Prepare basic takeoffs based on plan review and specifications; develop zone maps and accurate bill of materials.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in similar role. Knowledge of the lighting industry is a plus.
  • College degree or certificate is preferred
  • Understanding of architectural floorplans and fixture schedules

Role and responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting sales and engineering in the application evaluation and product selection/configuration stages of the sales process. The Application Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users as well as identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.  This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills who can be “hands-on” with the products. This position will report to the Director of Sales Support and will interface on a routine basis Engineering and Sales and Marketing. Travel will be expected on a periodic basis to support sales at key customer accounts and installation of new products at customer sites

  • Management of Beta product deployment to selected customers including defining product configuration and application take-offs.
  • Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings; provide periodic updates on product development and launch schedules.
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for installation guides and technical documentation (ie. Spec sheets).
  • Work with Marketing Team to develop sales tools, technical marketing collateral and manage product demo/display design and fabrication
  • Be an expert with respect to competitive products in relevant applications and markets

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Technical degree, 2 years min, 4 year plus
  • 5 years’ experience minimum, in lighting
  • 10% to 15% travel
  • UL experience, highly desired

Role and responsibilities

The Shipping/Receiving Manager position requires considerable contact with suppliers, subordinates and other staff members to attain common goals. This position requires a high degree of independence and is expected to exercise independent judgment. A Receiving Manager must possess excellent managerial skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizes shipping and receiving tasks including creating a timely and accurate delivery schedule
  • Manages the shipping and receiving team
  • Develops a detailed understanding of the shipping and receiving requirements for Tempo
  • Supervises the packing of items and the verification of the related paperwork
  • Makes recommendations regarding staffing requirements
  • Coordinated the scheduling of assistants and staff members
  • Determines cost effective shipping methods and verifies that complete order have been hipped and received in accordance with Tempo requirements
  • Follows up on reported claims
  • Maintains inventory of all shipping supplies
  • Prepare bills of ladings for LTL shipments.
  • Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is required.
  • Prepare freight quotes for Customer Service & Sales departments.
  • Ability to enter into computerized ERP system the correct information to acknowledge receipt of goods and shipments.
  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
  • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies purchasing personnel.
  • Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documents.
  • May maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate company vehicle to deliver shipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental..
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Job Requirements

  • College Degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Role and responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains equipment in production and engineering departments including equipment having pneumatic and PLC control systems
  • Perform routine maintenance activities typical for industrial buildings including basic electrical and plumbing repair.
  • Coordinate and supervisor outside contractors for facilities repairs, tenant improvements and other activities as necessary
  • Assist engineering staff with in-house mock-up and product installation in Tempo facilities

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High level of proficiency in troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance of electro-pneumatic equipment including systems controlled by PLC
  • Proven hands-on experience using standard and power tools to repair equipment and perform general maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skill and experience with operating mills, drill press, band-saw and similar machining equipment
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance of equipment having tooling dies
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other building systems
  • Valid, current CA license with excellent driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in manufacturing environment.
