Role and responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager with an eye for detail and understanding of our products to ensure that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the customers. The Quality Assurance Manager will be hands-on in leading improvement and process development in with respect to incoming components, assembly and manufacturing processes as well the inspection process of the final product to make sure it has been built with compliance to internal and external standards and meets customer expectations. Additionally, the Quality Manager will work with various department managers to develop and improve internal business processes. Success in this position will be predicated upon driving cross-functional process improvement to drive sustainable growth while having a sense of responsibility towards our customers and how Tempo products participate in their businesses. This position reports to the Executive Vice President of R&D.

Responsibilities

  • Understand product design intent and performance capabilities in light of customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
  • Working with Engineering to devise, improve and review specifications for components and finished products
  • Develop documentation process for capturing and communicating requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing personnel to identify and work on opportunities to streamline manufacturing
  • Insure adherence to processes for inspection and testing of on components, sub-assemblies and final products.
  • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
  • Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives and department managers
  • Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient operational procedures

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Role and responsibilities

The CAD Operator position supports the Company’s Lighting Sales and Quotations Department, primarily, by:

  • Preparing Project Architectural format Plan Drawings / Layouts, that depict company’s lighting product types and locations, under the direction of the Company’s lead Project Managers on multiple projects, simultaneously. The plans developed by the CAD Operator are generally “overlays” on top of the Architect’s or Electrical Engineer’s floor plan drawings.
  • This position will receive specific direction/guidance/requirements on multiple projects from the various Project Managers and the ability to properly prioritize and stay organized is vital.
  • This is a fast paced, high volume, high demand position and the right candidate should display and have devotion to attention to detail, clear communication, and sense of urgency to accomplish the task, with minimal corrections.
  • During the training process, and while working with Sales and Quotations Department Team and the Project Managers the CAD Operator will learn extensively about the company’s lighting products. The right candidate should understand the critical need and benefit to rapidly learning about the company’s lighting products, and their proper application to satisfy a client’s requirement.
  • The right candidate will utilize their experience with Architectural CAD Drafting techniques to prepare professional level Architectural format Plan Drawings/Layout drawings to Company standards. Those techniques include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Model and Layout Tabs
    • Layer management
    • CAD operations / commands to professionally draw project layouts as needed, predominantly in 2D
    • Proper scaling and ability to work within and adjust CAD setup parameters for professional drawing development
    • XRef (other CAD dwgs, and PDF dwgs brought in to working drawings)
    • Viewport handling and scaling techniques
    • Efficiently working in MSPACE and PSPACE
    • Plotting (to electronic file format)
    • Packaging completed Project Drawings Set
  • The CAD Operator will also perform other duties as requested by the position’s direct supervisor, the Director of Sales Support.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The CAD Operator position requires a candidate with the following minimum qualifications:

  • High School Graduate
  • Ability to read and interpret Construction Drawing Sets / Blueprints – Plans and Elevations
  • 2-3 years of Autocad Drafting experience – Architectural / Electrical / General Construction drafting plan set experience preferred.
  • Experience with the Architectural Drafting Techniques listed above
  • Experience with newer versions of Autocad (ie Autocad 2016 or Autocad LT 2016)
  • Lighting industry knowledge would be helpful
  • General Architectural and General Construction methods knowledge would be helpful
  • Experience working in an office environment and must be very computer literate
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, generating PDFs, modifying and packaging PDFs
  • Touch typing would be preferred for efficiency

 

Additional experience that could be a plus

AGI experience is a plus.

Construction / Electrical take off experience a plus

Construction estimator experience a plus

Manufacturing experience a plus
